I was researching online and found so many health benefits that come from boating (By boating I mean paddling, rowing, or sailing). And I thought I’d share them with you. So here are nine benefits of Boating.

Why Boating is GREAT For Your Health.

✔️ Boating helps you burn calories and lose weight. You’ll probably burn about 400 calories for every hour of boating at 5 mph.

✔️ Boating increases your overall stamina by strengthening your lungs. You’ll notice you won’t feel worn out after other strenuous activities.

✔️ Boating strengthens and sculpts your upper body, legs, core muscles, and back. It’s a full body exercise.

✔️ Boating leaves you pleasantly exhausted, which helps you fall asleep as soon as you hit the pillow.

✔️ Boating improves your cardiovascular health. Your heart pumps and your blood flows. It also increases the amount of red blood cells in the body. And let me tell you: it’s way more fun than being on a treadmill for an hour!

✔️ Boating activates Vitamin D in your body. Since it’s done under the sun, boating helps you develop strong bones and boosts your immune system—making you stronger against illnesses.

Not only that, but boating also provides amazing benefits for your brain and mind. Here are three of them.

✔️ Boating helps your brain release “happy hormones”. Since it’s an aerobic exercise, it helps your brain release dopamine, serotonin, and endorphins.

✔️ Boating connects you with nature. It clears your mind and connects you with the fresh air and beautiful sights of the outdoors. This reduces stress and all its negative effects in your body.

✔️ Boating also boosts the size of your hippocampus. This is the part of the brain that takes charge of verbal memory and learning.

With that said, I firmly believe boating is one of the most complete, fun, and healthy exercises you can practice.

Anyways, if you’d like to give boating a shot…
