Ever Seen A Bald Eagle?

In mid-winter of 2017, a pair of Bald Eagles were spotted in Lake Quinsigamond.

That season, they hatched two Eaglets: a male and a female.

Experts considered the sight amazing, because it’s a busy location for eagles…

…But they didn’t appear on their own.

You see, an eagle restoration project began in Massachusetts in 1982. And thirty five years later, the project yielded results.

Anyways, in November 2017, their annual rearing cycle started and the eagles went their separate ways.

However, eagles mate for life.

That means that when their nest is built, they always return there, season after season. They were spotted in January 2018 making a few “renovations” to their nest.

With that said…

…Today there are over 70 bald eagle nests left in the entire state of Massachusetts. And Wildlife asks the public to report any sightings.

Anyways, why am I telling you all this?

Because eagles are a rare and beautiful sighting in Lake Quinsigamond. And if you get on the water with the intention to spot them, the experience becomes more fun!

P.S. There are many amazing attractions to be seen in Lake Quinsigamond: floating ice cream shops, bald eagle nests, the restored Kenneth Burns Memorial Bridge… But I’m wondering, what’s your favorite attraction?
