I found some old postcards of Lake Quinsigamond. Wanted to share them with you and tell you a bit about their history:
This is the Tolassit Canoe Club. It was established on March 1st, 1897.

In the mid 1800’s, crew racing became one of Worcester’s main attractions.

Lake Quinsig was ideal for regattas, and boating clubs all over the US started coming here. The Tolassit Canoe Club became one of the hot spots for these clubs to hang out.

This is Lincoln Park. It’s been around since the late 1800s, but in the 1930s it was owned by Frank Duffy, a famous entertainment promoter.

There were roller skates, bands, and even carousels at Lincoln Park.

The Thule Club, or Thule Building, is still standing and currently houses Palson’s office furniture.

It was built around 1907. Many Swedish immigrants came to Massachusetts around that time, and they built the Thule Building so some Swedish organizations had winter quarters.

I have a few more postcards that I’ll send you in future emails.

But in the meantime, if you want to join us for paddling, sailing, or rowing lessons, in a beautiful place whose boating history is over 130 years old…

…Then sign up today and enjoy our early bird pricing (Available until Sunday, March 31st, at 11:59pm EST):
