I’m beyond excited to share some good news with you:
An Olympic rower is training in Lake Quinsigamond for the upcoming Olympics in late July!!
Her name is Aisyah Rafaee.
She’s Singapore’s first Olympic rower and currently lives in Boston. She’s a champ.
And our marketing manager, Taryn, interviewed Aisyah to see why she chose Lake Quinsig for her pre-Olympic training.
We’ll share the interview with you in a future email…
…But she said something I couldn’t hold myself from sharing with you.
When we asked her what she enjoyed most about Lake Quinsig…
…She said you could take a long stretch of water without many bends and turns. This is something you can’t do in many bodies of water, anywhere.
Lake Quinsig is almost a straight course for almost four miles. It’s so rare even for an Olympic rower to find a course like this one. “It’s so rare and so much win”, she says.
Aisyah also said she loves the small rowing community of Worcester.
“Everyone knows and respects each other. It has a very different vibe from where I used to row on the Charles, in Boston. Over there it can be pretty crazy and hectic.”
It’s amazing that such a skilled rower who trains twice a day, six days a week, chose our Lake Quinsig as a training ground.
Anyways, just wanted to share this with you.
She shared some amazing things…
…That made me think Lake Quinsig might be one of the best places to practice rowing (or any boating sport) not just in the US, but in the world.
That’s just me…
…But when I share Aisyah’s interview with you next week…
…You might feel the same way.
